Thank you for stopping by! When we set out on this "Internet Adventure" we
visited many other websites. We noticed that just about everybody
makes the same claims - "established since 19whatever (at least 40 years ago)"
- "quality work on time and on budget" - "we're the one for you" and so on.
Well, The Whayland Company has been around since 1950, but the current ownership/management
assumed control in 1993. Ownership/management transfer is perhaps the most difficult
and potentially devastating maneuver in the contracting industry. Ours was not without
it's difficulties, but has proven to be an unqualified success.
We do do good work. So do most of our competitors. The simple truth is that we're
all buying materials from the same suppliers, using the same subcontractor pool, and
hiring from the same labor population. With the exception of Butler buildings, our
construction resources are fairly similar. (We've handled steel buildings other
than Butler and can say with authority that it is a superior product.) The critical
differences are in how these resources are managed and in how effectively the
contractor deals with planning, permitting, and compliance issues as well. Selecting
good subcontractors who share our passion for getting the job "done and done right"
is key. So is interpreting your needs and adding value through field-wise building
solutions. Understanding and managing the interrelationships between planning, permitting,
financing, construction, and government regulation has become as important as
understanding and managing the job site. We believe our ability to manage the entire
delivery process and the field resources in an efficient and timely manner sets us apart.
Are we "the one for you"? Well, let's find out! Please take a look at our
website and e-mail us or call me personally at 302-846-2100 to discuss the
possibilities. Thank you!
