Western Sussex Construction Firm Begins New Clubhouse Build in Lewes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Whayland Co., a mainstay in Delmarva’s commercial building scene for more than 65 years, has begun work on what will become a 9,000-square-foot clubhouse and pool bar at the new Coastal Club community in Lewes.
Work began on Monday, March 21, and is expected to take a few months to complete. Once finished, the clubhouse will add many amenities to the Ocean Atlantic property, including a spacious pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, an arts and crafts center and Delaware’s only swim-up pool bar.
“We’re pretty excited about creating this one-of-a-kind community clubhouse in Sussex County, and we’re proud that Ocean Atlantic has put their trust in a locally owned and operated company, such as ours, to build their showcase facility at the Coastal Club,” says Steve Hentschel, owner of the Whayland Co. “We love these kinds of projects because we can envision, even as they are being built, the fun and enjoyment people will have here for many years to come.”
The Whayland Co., has a long history of building some of the Delmarva Peninsula’s most well-known structures, including the Johnny Janosik World of Furniture in Laurel, the Sussex County Association of Realtors’ headquarters in Georgetown, the clubhouse at Baywood Greens in Long Neck, the Possum Point Players theater building in Georgetown and the Eastern Shore Veterinary Hospital in Laurel.
Coastal builds include the Lingo Office Building, Atlantic Liquors, the Movies at Midway, the Bellmoor Inn and Candy Kitchen.
In addition to the clubhouse and unique pool bar being constructed by the Whayland Co., other amenities at the new Coastal Club in Lewes include a designated splash park for the kids, tennis, horseshoe and bocce ball courts, a community garden and farm stand, a dog park and a more than three mile long walking trail.
“It’s going to be another fabulous coastal Delaware community and we’re proud we were chosen to be a part of it,” says Hentschel. “We enjoy teaming up with companies that love Sussex County as much as we do and like to add to the quality of life here in our area. The Coastal Club is definitely going to be a fantastic addition to the local area and one that we couldn’t be happier attaching our name to.”
Builders at the Coastal Club include Schell Brothers, NV Homes and Ryan Homes.
